Interest rates on short-term loans in AMD decrease 0.45 p.p. to 17.05% in February

YEREVAN, April 12. /ARKA/. The average interest rate on short-term loans in Armenian drams, allocated by Armenian commercial banks in February, dropped by 0.45 percentage points to 17.05% from January, according to “Overview of monetary and credit indices in February 2012” report published by Armenia’s Central Bank

The average interest rate on short-term loans in foreign currency is said to lose 0.5 p.p. totaling in 15.17% in February from January.

At the same time the average interest rate on short-term credits attracted by the commercial banks of Armenia tumbled 0.65 p.p. in average to 9.5%.

The average interest rate on short-term loans in AMD and foreign currency shrank in total of 0.15 p.p. to 7.65% in February from January.

As of February 29, 2012, there are 21 commercial banks in Armenia.($1 – 391.48 drams).—0–
