Post Bank to launch in Armenia in 2010: HayPost director general

YEREVAN, November 25, /ARKA/. Director general of HayPost (Armenian Postal Service) company Arman Khachaturian said Tuesday that the Post Bank will start operating in Armenia in 2010.

Speaking to journalists he said the preparatory work is moving towards completion and the bank will be opened next year.

He said Post Bank is one of the main projects of the trust management of the HayPost company.

The establishment of Post Bank is part of a $12 million program designed to modernize the postal sector of the country.

The Central Bank of Armenia approved in 2008 September giving a banking license To Armenian Post Bank.

The new bank is fully owned by an Argentinean- Armenian businessmen Eduardo Eurnekian, who owns Post Bank’s authorized capital in the amount of 5 billion Drams. Eurnekian also owns

the American International Airports, which was given the concessional management of Armenia’s main airport Zvartnots and Armenian Converse Bank.  -0-
