Net inflow of remittances to Armenia from abroad decreased by 1.7 times in January

YEREVAN, March 3. /ARKA/. The net inflow of private cross-border money transfers to Armenia, received from abroad through the banks, amounted to $18.7 million in January 2025, compared to $32.8 million in January 2024, according to the report from the Central Bank of Armenia.

Thus, this figure has decreased by about 1.7 times year-on-year.

The total inflow of cross-border money transfers to individuals in Armenia was $377.5 million in January 2025, compared to $360.7 million in January 2024.

Among the leaders in money transfers to Armenia during the reporting period were Russia, with $237 million, and the United States, with $45.7 million. Russia and the United States were also the leaders in money transfers to Armenia in the same month of the previous year, with $234.2 million and $45.2 million, respectively.

Meanwhile, the outflow of individual money transfers from Armenia to abroad, conducted through the banking system of Armenia, amounted to $358.8 million in January 2025, compared to $327.9 million in January 2024.

Switzerland ($78.1 million) and the UAE ($68.8 million) led the outflows from Armenia during the reporting period. In the same month of 2024, the UAE ($51.8 million) and Switzerland ($47.9 million) were also the leading countries for transfers from Armenia abroad.
