EDB forecasts inflation in Armenia at 4.4% by the end of 2026

YEREVAN, September 7. /ARKA/. Inflation in Armenia will reach 4.4% year-on-year by the end of 2026, according to the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB).

According to the bank’s weekly macroeconomic review, annual inflation in Armenia was 4.4% in August, down from 4.5% the previous month.

The main factor contributing to the slowdown in the overall indicator was a decrease in food price growth, to 6.4% year-on-year from 7.4% in July. The EDB attributes this trend to lower prices for certain agricultural products.

Price growth for non-food products also slowed somewhat, to 2.4% from 2.5% the previous month.

At the same time, inflation in the services sector accelerated to 2.8% year-on-year from 1.8% in July, which the EDB attributes to accelerated growth in transportation prices.

According to the EDB’s macroeconomic forecast for 2026–2028, consumer price growth in Armenia is expected to reach 4.4% year-on-year by the end of this year.

Armenia’s 2026 state budget projects inflation at 3% with a tolerance of ±1 percentage point. According to the Central Bank’s latest forecast, inflation is expected to range from 3.3% to 4.4% by the end of 2026 (depending on the scenario).
