YEREVAN, September 8. /ARKA/. Deposits in commercial banks in Armenia at the end of July 2026 amounted to 8,289,634 million drams, compared to 8,070,715 million drams in June. This is according to data from the Statistical Committee of the Republic.
Moreover, deposits from non-residents in July amounted to 1.73 trillion drams, compared to 1.66 trillion drams in June, and from residents – 6.56 trillion drams, compared to 6.41 trillion drams the previous month.
The report notes that the non-resident deposits figure at the end of July includes demand deposits, including accounts, and time deposits of non-resident organizations, households, non-profit organizations, and non-bank financial institutions.
In the structure of residents’ dram deposits, which totaled 4.48 trillion drams compared to 4.35 trillion drams in June, demand deposits, including accounts, amounted to 1.87 trillion drams at the end of July, compared to 1.80 trillion drams the previous month, while time deposits amounted to 2.61 trillion drams compared to 2.55 trillion drams.
Of residents’ foreign currency deposits, which totaled AMD 2.07 trillion compared to AMD 2.06 trillion in June, demand deposits, including accounts, totaled AMD 958.3 billion in July, compared to AMD 944.1 billion the previous month, while time deposits totaled AMD 1.116 trillion compared to AMD 1.121 trillion in June.
The balance of deposits attracted from households in Armenian banks at the end of July 2026 amounted to AMD 3.81 trillion, an increase of 3.3% month-on-month and 25.1% year-on-year.
In July, the interest rate on commercial bank deposits was 7.88% compared to 7.82% in June. ($1 = AMD 363.64)
