Armenian banks’ aggregate assets grow 29.9% to amd 1346.1 billion

YEREVAN, March 2. /ARKA/. Armenian banks’ aggregate assets reached AMD 1346.1 billion by late December 2009 after growing 29.9% or by AMD 309.5 billion over that year and 6.3% or by AMD 79.7 billion, compared with the third quarter.

ARKA News Agency’s analysis based on banks’ quarterly reports shows that ACBA-Credit Agricole Bank was the largest asset-owner among Armenian banks in the 4th Q.

Its assets amounted to AMD 162.8 billion by Dec 31, 200, after growing 31.6% over the year. The bank’s assets made up 12.1% of Armenian banks’ aggregate assets.

HSBC Bank Armenia, with its AMD 135.8/ billion, was the second biggest asset-owner among the country’s banks (10.1% of aggregate assets).

Then VTB Bank (Armenia) with its 120.8 billion, Ardshininvestbank (AMD 119.5 billion) and Unibank (AMD 108.6 billion) came.

These five banks’ aggregate share in Armenian banks’ total assets is 48.1%.
