Forex deals at NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange total $79.1 million in june

YEREVAN, July 7. /ARKA/. Forex deals at NASDAQ OMX Armenia Stock Exchange totaled $79.1 million or AMD 29.4 billion in June.

ARKA News Agency’s analysis based on the stock exchange’s figures shows that this result is 96.9% ($38.9 million or AMD 13.97 billion) greater than that of the previous month.

The number of dram/dollar exchange deals grew by 351 to 754.

The maximal amount – $9.09 million – was recorded on June 18, and the minimal – $350,000 – on June 8.
No deals on euro were effected here in June.

NASDAQ OMX Armenia (former Armenian Stock Exchange, Armex), was established in 2001 as a voluntary merger of 21 broker (dealer) companies.

In January 2008, Nordic exchange operator OMX Group acquired 100% of shares of the Armenian Stock Exchange (Armex) and the Central Depository of Armenia (CDA). After the combination of NASDAQ and OMX in March 2008, Armex and CDA have become fully owned by the NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc.

On January 27, 2009, Armenian Stock Exchange was renamed NASDAQ OMX Armenia.

The stock exchange got its license for effecting forex deals on November 7, 2005, and started its foreign exchange activity on November 15, 2005.

The average dollar/dram exchange rate at NASDAQ OMX was $1=AMD 372 in June. ($1 = AMD 368.73). -0—
