Armenian Bank Deposits In AMD Grow By 3.7% In June To 237.2 Billion

YEREVAN, August 16. / ARKA /. The amount of deposits in AMD in Armenian commercial banks grew to 237.2 billion at the end of June, having increased by 3.7 percent from the previous month, according to a statement posted on the official website of the Central Bank of Armenia.  According to the statement, 96.2% of the deposits in AMD belonged to residents.

According to the statement, 128.1 billion drams of 56.1% of all deposits in AMD were call deposits placed by residents. Their share grew by 4.3% in June from May. According to the report, time deposits accounted for 43.9% of resident deposits in AMD reaching at the end of June 100.2 billion drams, growing by 3% from May.

The volume of deposits in foreign currency also rose in June by 3.7% and reached at the end of June  about 548.5 billion drams. There are 21  commercial banks in Armenia. ($ 1 – 368.03 AMD). –0–
