Number Of Transactions In The Armenian Payment System Arca In November 2011 Exceeded 47.2 Billion Drams

YEREVAN, December 12. /ARKA/. Number of transactions in the Armenian payment system ArCa in November 2011 exceeded 47.2 billion drams showing decline by 2.9% in October 2011, ARKA News Agency informed.

In accordance with the provided information, in November 2011, 995778 transactions were implemented which is less by 0.7% than the indicator of October 2011.

By the cards issued by the participants of the system (including products by payment systems MasterCard, Visa (individual cards) in November 961845 transactions in the amount of about 45 billion drams (decline by 2.2% compared to October) were implemented. By Visa cards issued by the participants of the system (other people’s cards) – 22228 transactions amounting 1.3 billion drams (decline by 15.9%) and by MasterCard – 11705 transactions amounting 908.5 million drams (decline by 14.3%) were implemented.

In total by this system, 838689 cash transactions amounting about 42 billion drams were implemented which is less by 3% than October indicator, as well as 157089 non-cash transactions amounting 5.2 billion drams (decline compared to October – 2.4%).

Average size of one transaction was 47.4 thousand drams, one cash transaction – about 50 thousand drams and one non-cash transaction – 33.2 thousand drams.

“Armenian Card” cjsc was established on March 16, 2000 as a unified national system of payment cards. Today, 19 of 21 commercial banks of Armenia in any status participate in the payment system ArCa. In the national system different types of products on the basis of ArCa cards are circulated: ArCa Debit, ArCa Classic, ArCa Gold, ArCa Business, ArCa Affinity, ArCa Co-branded, ArCa Platinum, as well as pension cards ArCa.
