According to 95% of bankers, armenian 12-month inflation to range between 2.5% and 5.5%

YEREVAN, February 25. /ARKA/. About 95% of respondents from Armenian banking system project a 12-month inflation level to range between 2.5% and 5.5%, according to the results of the poll conducted by Armenia’s Central Bank in the fourth quarter of 2012.

The Central bank carries out regular public opinion surveys on expected inflation levels among financial institutions and households in the country. The previous study showed 62% of banking respondents expected the 12-month inflation to be within 2.5-5.5% in the country.

About 60% of credit organization respondents forecast 2.5-5.5% inflation in the fourth quarters against 41% during the previous poll. Percentage of credit organizations expected lower drops of inflation levels, within 5.5-8.5%, has reduced from 41% in the previous survey to 33% this time.

Inflation expectations of households proved to be a bit lower than the targeted level – 4.3% against 4.5% in the previous quarter.

Under 2012 Armenian budget, expected inflation is 4% (±1.5%).–0–
