Farm insurance not expedient in Armenia yet: Prime-Minister

YEREVAN, May 23. /ARKA/. Farmers insurance is not yet practical in Armenia, the prime-minister Tigran Sargsyan said at a cabinet meeting Thursday.

“It is not something to be done today. Introduction of rural insurance across the country is very expensive, and farmers do not have money for monthly payments on insurance packages. That is why it is not expedient for the time being”, the prime-minister said.

At its Thursday meeting the government approved its program to help Armavir farmers recover losses suffered from the May 12 hailstorm.–0—
