Areximbank – Gazprombank group issued 102,000 international payment cards since 2002

YEREVAN, March 12. / ARKA /. Areximbank – Gazprombank Group has issued some 102,000 international payment cards since 2002, according to its deputy CEO Ruben Khachatryan. In 2013 alone the Russian-owned bank issued 12,000 VISA payment cards, Khachatryan was quoted as saying in a press release.

According to it, the amount of transactions made by using these cards in other banks’ outlets grew by 25% from 2012, while the amount of transactions at the bank’s own outlets grew by 23 %.
As of December 31, 2013 the bank ran 78 ATMs, 39 cash payment points and 249 POS terminals, as well as 26 virtual terminals.

Khachatryan said Areximbank-Gazprombank Group will continue to cooperate actively with VISA
International VISA in 2014.

The bank’s customers can take advantage of a string of latest technologies and services – remote access to bank and card accounts through “e-bank” system, they can use ATMs to pay their utility bills; they can also use Telecard services that allows receiving SMS-messages about transactions made by using the card.

The bank offers also “from card to card’ money transfers. It allows instant money transfers between Armenia and Russia via Areximbank’s own and Russian Gazprombank’s ATMs at any time of the day.

The customers can also take advantage of Internet acquiring that allows holders of Visa and MasterCard cards to pay for goods and services from around the world at any online store of the country.

Areximbank is a principal member of international payment systems VISA, MasterCard and Armenian national payment system ARCA. It issues VISA Electron, VISA Classic, VISA Gold, VISA Business, Maestro, MasterCard Standard and MasterCard Gold cards, as well as ARCA Classic and ARKA pension cards.

Areximbank – Gazprombank Group founded in 1998 is owned by Russian Gazprombank. It has successfully certified for compliance with international requirements of ISO 9001: 2008. The bank has 16 branches, 9 in regions of Armenia and 7 in the capital Yerevan. -0-
