Dollar-dram foreign exchange transactions totaling $7 million effected at NASDAQ OMX Armenia last week

YEREVAN, May 26. /ARKA/. Dollar-dram foreign exchange transactions totaling $7 million effected at NASDAQ OMX Armenia over a period between May 19 and 23, while the forex deals made at this stock exchange between May 12 and 16 totaled $3.5 million, the press office of the Central Bank of Armenia reports.

The dollar traded at 412.61 drams, on average, throughout a week between May 19 and 23. No deals on the euro and Russia’s ruble were effected here over the week.

NASDAQ OMX Armenia (former Armenian Stock Exchange, Armex), was established in 2001 as a voluntary merger of 21 broker (dealer) companies.

In January 2008, Nordic exchange operator OMX Group acquired 100% of shares of the Armenian Stock Exchange (Armex) and the Central Depository of Armenia (CDA). After NASDAQ and OMX merged in March 2008, Armex and CDA have become fully owned by the NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc.
