Armenia’s commercial banks purchase about $64.1 mln at intra-banking forex market last week

YEREVAN, February 2. /ARKA/. Armenian commercial banks purchased about $64.1 mln at a weighted average rate of 473.33 drams per $1 in intra-banking foreign exchange market on January 26 to 30, the press service of the Central Bank reported.

In the same period, about 5.2 mln euros and about 528.9 mln rubles were purchased on the intra-banking forex market at weighted average exchange rates of 532.32 drams per €1 and 6.97 drams per ruble respectively.

At the same time, about $78.8mln, €8.1mln and about 147mln rubles were sold on the intra-banking forex market at weighted average exchange rates of 476.41 drams, 539.45drams and 7.29drams respectively.

Dram loans extended by Armenian banks during the week before (January 19-25) totaled about 50.3bln drams; dollar loans amounted to a total of $28.7mln. ($1=476.74drams). –0–
