IMF executive board approves US$248.2 million stand-by arrangement for Armenia

The IMF approved a 36-month Stand-By Arrangement (SBA) for Armenia amounting to about US$248.2 million, Armenian Central bank reported. The Armenian authorities have indicated that they will treat the arrangement as precautionary, and do not intend to draw on the new SBA unless shocks generate balance of payments needs, IMF said in a press release

Private money transfers to Armenia in first quarter of 2019 grew by 9.26% to $391.4 million

Private money transfers sent to Armenia via banks in the first quarter of 2019 grew by 9.26% from the first quarter of 2018 to $391.4 million, the Central Bank said. It said in March alone, the amount of money transfers dropped by 3.6% from the same month in 2018 to $132.1 million

In quarter one, Armenian banks paid 11.8 billion drams in taxes

The list of Armenia’s largest 1000 corporate taxpayers in the first quarter of 2019 includes all the 17 commercial banks operating in the country, which paid a total of 11.8 billion drams in taxes, up from 9.4 billion drams they had paid in the first quarter of 2018 (an increase of 25.3%), according to the State Revenue Committee of Armenia (SRC).
