Armenia records 12-month deflation of 0.6% in December 2023

YEREVAN, January 9. /ARKA/. Armenia’s consumer market recorded a twelve-month deflation of 0.6% in December 2023, the National Statistical Committee (NSC) reports.

It is also noted that prices in December 2023 increased by 0.9% compared to the previous month.

At the same time, prices rose by 2% in January-December 2023 compared to the identical period in 2022.

The Armenian government’s inflation forecast for 2023 is 4% (±1.5%). Last December, the Central Bank forecasted zero inflation for the year. -0-
