Russian Fora Bank opens office in Armenia

YEREVAN, August 14. /ARКА/. A man suspected of embezzling 802.5 million drams from a bank and money laundering has been arrested in Armenia. The preliminary investigation has been completed, the press service of the RA Investigative Committee reported.

Recently, there has been an increase in cases of criminals luring citizens into suspicious financial transactions using their bank accounts or cryptocurrency accounts, as well as e-wallets or cards to transfer criminally obtained funds, in order to conceal their true origin and beneficiaries, according to a statement from the Central Bank of Armenia's press service.

YEREVAN, August 12. /ARKA/. The average market exchange rate of the US dollar to the Armenian dram on the Armenian foreign exchange market fell by 0.16 points on August 12, 2026, compared to August 11, to 365.91 drams.
