OVIO supports innovative education within the framework of the World Robot Olympiad

YEREVAN, September 24. /ARKA/. OVIO telecommunication company is the main partner of the World Robot Olympiad (WRO) in Armenia. This unique international competition is aimed at involving schoolchildren in practical scientific activities and stimulating their interest in science.

Since 2023, the educational public organization “Contest Lab” has been the national representative of the Olympiad. OVIO continues to cooperate with it and jointly to contribute to the development of this educational platform.

Every year, starting from 2018, OVIO has sponsored the national round of the Robot Olympiad and also supporting participation in the international round of the competition. In 2022, the company realized the “Donate a Dream” project aimed at the development of robotics, which was launched in the regions of Armenia, creating robotics training laboratories in Gyumri and Shagap village of Ararat region.

It is worth mentioning that the students of Gyumri Laboratory (GDL team) took the 1st honorable place in the national stage of “Legostart” competition, and also performed well in the national stage of WRO, taking the 3rd place.

The World Robot Olympiad serves as a platform for students to deepen their knowledge of math, programming, physics and engineering, fostering interdisciplinary connections.

Among the competition’s goals are the following:

To engage students in hands-on science activities,

– Develop logical and engineering abilities,

– To promote the development of teamwork skills,

– To promote practical application of theoretical knowledge,

– Unlock and deepen the creative minds and abilities of students.

“Our goal is not only to provide support to participate in the competition, but also to inspire the young generation to innovate and create. The World Robot Olympiad is a great opportunity where theoretical knowledge turns into practical skills,” said OVIO CEO Hayk Faramazyan.

It should be noted that OVIO opened the largest data center in Armenia in 2024, going beyond the traditional telecom operator and providing IT solutions with a focus on cloud services.

OVIO will continue to support such initiatives, contributing to the educational and technological development of young people.-0-
