The average market exchange rate for the US dollar against the Armenian dram, formed on the Armenian foreign exchange market, fell by 0.87 points on August 5, 2026, compared to August 4, to 366.14 drams.

At a meeting on Thursday, the Armenian government approved a loan agreement with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD, a World Bank structure) for €170.3 million under the "Armenia Economic Transformation Policy Development Loan" program.

The total net profit (after tax) of Armenian credit institutions in the first half of 2026 amounted to 21.02 billion drams, compared to 30.73 billion drams in the first half of 2025 (a decline of 1.46 times, or 31.6%).

The loan portfolio of Armenian banks in the first half of 2026 amounted to 8.8 trillion drams, up 11.5%, reported Daniel Azatyan, head of the Union of Banks of the Republic.

Equity market capitalization exceeded 426 billion drams in July 2026, the press service of the Armenia Securities Exchange (AMX) reported.
