Freedom Broker Armenia Director Hovak Hovakimyan does not expect the Central Bank rate hike to have a significant impact on market sentiment and investment activity in the local market.

The decision of the Board of the Central Bank of Armenia to raise the refinancing rate was primarily due to excessive demand factors, Central Bank Governor Martin Galstyan stated in response to a question from ARKA news agency.

Acba Bank will act as a market maker for dram-denominated bonds of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) on the Armenia Securities Exchange (ASE), ensuring their liquidity in the secondary market, the bank's press service reported.

Thanks to significant remittance and capital inflows, gross reserves in Armenia rose to a record $6.5 billion in August, equivalent to 4.3 months of import coverage, according to the World Bank's Armenia "Monthly Economic Update – September 2026."

Since January 1, no changes have been made to Armenia's health insurance package that would lead to a reduction in services or the transition of any of them to a fee-based basis, stated RA Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan.
