USD and RUB depreciate against Armenian dram, EUR – rises

YEREVAN, August 17. /ARKA/. For more than five years, Acba Bank has held the top spot in the Armenian card market. As of May 2026, the total number of cards issued by the bank surpassed 1 million, as reported by the bank's press service.

YEREVAN, August 14. /ARКА/. A man suspected of embezzling 802.5 million drams from a bank and money laundering has been arrested in Armenia. The preliminary investigation has been completed, the press service of the RA Investigative Committee reported.

Recently, there has been an increase in cases of criminals luring citizens into suspicious financial transactions using their bank accounts or cryptocurrency accounts, as well as e-wallets or cards to transfer criminally obtained funds, in order to conceal their true origin and beneficiaries, according to a statement from the Central Bank of Armenia's press service.

YEREVAN, August 17. /ARKA/. The average market exchange rate for the US dollar against the Armenian dram on the Armenian foreign exchange market, fell by 0.32 points on August 17, 2026, compared to August 14, to 365.82 drams.
