YEREVAN, April 22. /ARKA/. FINTECH360 international conference was held in Yerevan with the support of Unibank.
This year more than 300 participants came to Armenia, including representatives of banks, payment and money transfer companies, heads of large IT companies and startups. Compared to previous years, the number of participants increased almost 1.5 times.
The conference participants were welcomed by Hovhannes Khachatryan, Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia, Gagik Zakaryan, Chairman of the Board of Unibank, and Daniel Azatyan, President of the Union of Banks of Armenia.
“FINTECH360 is a great opportunity to discuss with leading experts the development of the sector, as well as joint initiatives and projects aimed at introducing financial technologies,” said Central Bank Deputy Chairman Khachatryan in his speech.
“The digital era brings not only opportunities but also responsibility. We are facing the need for a dialog between technology and security, speed and reliability, creativity and regulation. However complex this dialog may be, it must be conducted in depth, with responsibility and a vision for the future. The International Conference FINTECH360 and other meetings held in a similar format can certainly become a platform for such a dialog, uniting leaders and specialists in this field,” noted Daniel Azatyan, Head of the Union of Banks of Armenia.
The Chairman of the Board of Unibank emphasized the fact that the conference has been held in Yerevan for 3 years already. So far FINTECH360 has been held in Greece, Spain, Italy, Estonia, Austria, UK and other countries. This year’s conference is characterized by a record level of participation. More than 40 speakers discussed the most topical areas of fintech development during two days. The main topics on the conference agenda included AI applications in financial services, blockchain, cryptocurrency, DeFi and digital assets, the development of international money transfers and payment systems, how growing hyper-personalization is transforming the customer experience, FinTech solutions in brokerage services and capital markets, and the digitalization of the insurance market.
Experts from 20 different countries attended FINTECH360: Armenia, Belarus, Great Britain, Cyprus, France, Georgia, Germany, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Moldova, Mongolia, Russia, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, the UAE, and the UK.
Following an enriching panel discussion, attendees of FINTECH360 were invited to explore the rich history and culture of Armenia, including insights into the art of Armenian carpet weaving and the intricate carpet creation process. The guests also participated in a photo session, donning traditional Armenian national costumes.-0-
