EDB: Consumer price growth in Armenia will remain close to 3±1% this year

YEREVAN, July 7. /ARКА/. The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) forecasts that consumer price growth in Armenia will remain close to the Central Bank’s target of 3±1% this year.

According to the EDB’s macro forecast, inflation in Armenia amounted to 3.9% y/y in June after 4.3% y/y in May.

“The decline is due to a slowdown in food price growth (+6.2% y/y in June after 7.4% y/y a month earlier), and an increase in deflation in the non-food segment (-0.2% y/y in June after -0.1% y/y a month earlier). At the same time, service prices accelerated somewhat in June (+3.5% y/y after 3.1% y/y a month earlier),” the bank’s study notes.
