Euro rose against the Armenian dram, while the dollar and ruble fell: Central Bank of Armenia

Armenia's international foreign exchange reserves have reached a record high, but their sufficiency to cover the country's external needs in the medium term will remain below the average for countries with similar credit ratings, according to a report by the international rating agency Fitch Ratings.

On Thursday, the Armenian government approved the ratification of a financial agreement and the approval of a grant agreement with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD, a World Bank entity) for $284.4 million.

The Council of Europe's Committee of Experts on the Evaluation of Anti-Money Laundering Measures and the Financing of Terrorism (MONEYVAL) noted Armenia's progress in developing its system for combating financial crime, but recommended strengthening the effectiveness of money laundering investigations, asset confiscation, and oversight of certain economic sectors.

The international rating agency Fitch Ratings expects inflation in Armenia to average 4.4% in 2026, after which it will gradually return to its target level of 3%.

The average market exchange rate for the US dollar against the Armenian dram, formed on the Armenian foreign exchange market as of July 14, 2026, increased by 0.05 points compared to July 13, reaching 366.74 drams.
