YEREVAN, June 18. /ARКА/. Armenia’s international reserves have reached a record high, exceeding $5.7 billion, said Armen Nurbekyan, Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia.
“This year, we have a record-high level of reserves. They currently stand at approximately over $5.7 billion,” Nurbekyan said at a parliamentary session.
According to him, since the beginning of the year alone, the Central Bank has acquired approximately $1.1 billion in foreign exchange reserves.
Earlier, Central Bank Governor Martin Galstyan announced that the regulator had reviewed its approach to managing international reserves and decided not to include gold in their updated reserve strategy.
