YEREVAN, July 24. /ARKA/. The “Golden Crown” payment system has restricted money transfers from Russia to Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, and several other countries following the imposition of new EU sanctions, Russian media report.
According to available information, the service’s app and website list Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, and Uzbekistan as available transfer destinations from Russia, while Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Kazakhstan are not listed.
Golden Crown’s customer support told RBC that some transfer destinations are currently unavailable. The operator did not specify a full list of affected countries, the reasons for the restrictions, or a timeframe for lifting them.
At the time of publication, Golden Crown had not issued an official statement banning or completely stopping transfers to Armenia and other countries.
The restrictions arose after RNKO Payment Center, the operator and settlement center of the Golden Crown payment system, was included in the EU’s new sanctions list.
