Armenian banks will provide citizens with account statements free of charge

YEREVAN, August 25. /ARKA/. Individuals in Armenia will be able to receive free electronic statements from commercial banks about their bank accounts, their balances, and the presence or absence of mutual obligations with the bank. This was reported by the press service of the Central Bank of Armenia.

The Board of the Central Bank amended Regulation 8/05 “Rules of Business Conduct for Financial Institutions” based on feedback received from consumers.

The electronic statement will be provided free of charge. Clients will be able to receive a paper version free of charge at least once during each calendar year.

The Central Bank notes that the changes are aimed at strengthening individuals’ rights to obtain information about their status in the banking system, ensuring the availability of relevant information, and increasing the accessibility and transparency of financial services.
