The company “Armenian Card” issued in february 2012 over 31.6 thousand cards

YEREVAN, March 16. /ARKA/. Armenian payment system ArCa in February 2012 issued 31 636 plastic cards which is by 15.8% more than in February 2011, press-service of the company informed ARKA News Agency.

According to the provided data, in February 2012 the system has issued 14 747 ArCa cards (growth by 37.4%, compared to February 2011), 6 961 Visa cards (decline by 29.4%) and 9 928 MasterCards (growth by 47.5%).
Total number of active cards for making transactions in February was over 798.3 thousand which provided growth by 35.7% compared to February 2011.

The number of cards by which transactions were made was 535 073 in the reporting period vs. 372 790 in the same period of the last year, of which 295 091 – ArCa cards (growth by 35.9%), 126 697– Visa cards (growth – 27.6%), 113 285– MasterCards (growth – 101%).

The company also informed that weighted average of plastic cards by which transactions were made was 67% in February.
“Armenian Card” cjsc was established on March 16, 2000 as a unified national system of payment cards. Today, 19 of 21 commercial banks of Armenia in any status participate in the payment system ArCa. In the national system different types of products on the basis of ArCa cards are circulated: ArCa Debit, ArCa Classic, ArCa Gold, ArCa Business, ArCa Affinity, ArCa Co-branded, ArCa Platinum, as well as pension cards ArCa.

The company is a full member of international payment system MasterCard Europe, as well as implements processing of VISA cards and American Express (Third Party Processor). ($1 – 389.36 drams).  –0—
