Armenia’s gross international reserves in May rise to $1,598.7 million

YEREVAN, June 15. /ARKA/. Armenia’s gross international reserves hiked by 6.9% to $1,598.7 million in May 2015, the Central Bank of Armenia said on the basis of the preliminary data.

It said the bulk of reserves ($ 1,595 million) are in convertible currency.

According to the regulator, reserves in Special Drawing Right (SDR) at the IMF stood at $3.6 million as of the end of the reporting period.

Armenia’s gross international reserves fell by 33.8% or $762.3 million over 2014 to $1,489.3 million at the end of the year. Reduction in the reserves continued in 2015. In particular, in February the country’s gross international reserves stood at $1,260.9 million in February. –0–
