97,724 internet payment transactions operated by Armenian Card payment system via ATMs in December 2012

YEREVAN, January 24. /ARKA/. Some 97,724 Internet payment transactions, including payment of bills for utilities, and cashless transactions were operated by Armenian Card payment system via ATMs in December 2012, the company’s press office reported on Thursday.

This number is 67% greater than that of the previous year’s December.

These transactions totaled AMD 602.3 million – 10% year-on-year decline.

Some 10,625 card-to-card transfers were carried out in December 2012 as well. About AMD 750.7 million was transferred – 36.7% year-on-year growth.

Armenian Card CJSC was established on March 16, 2000 as a united national payment system.

Today 19 of Armenia’s 21 commercial banks participate in ArCa payment system. The company is a full member of MasterCard Europe international payment system. It also processes VISA and American Express (Third Party Processor) cards. ($1 – AMD 405.44). -0—-
