Armenia’s Central Bank sold $16.37 million at NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange on March 10-16

YEREVAN, March 17. / ARKA /. Armenia’s Central Bank sold $16.37 million at NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange on March 10-16, down from $34.95 million sold on March 3-9, at 414.80 drams for one USD, according to a statement on the regulator’s website.

The total amount of trading in USD at NASDAQ OMX Armenia from 10 to 14 March amounted to about $24.2 million

The Central Bank has had to intervene into the forex market each week from the beginning of the year to prevent the devaluation of the national currency. It sold since then $112.85 million.

According to the Central Bank data, the average exchange rate of U.S. dollar against Armenian dram rose 2% from the beginning of the year to $414.56 on March 14 ($ 1 – 414.56 drams). -0-
