Bank branch head arrested in Armenia on suspicion of pocketing AMD 122 million

YEREVAN, October 8. /ARKA/. An officers at a bank in Artashat was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of embezzlement of AMD 122 million (around $256,300), the Armenian police department reports on its official website.

According to the report, the Artashat police was told on September 28 that AMD 122 million had been stolen from a local branch of one of the banks operating in Armenia.
As a result of the steps taken by the Artashat police, the suspect was identified, tracked down and arrested in Yerevan on October 6.

The suspect is the head of the bank branch. He is a resident of Ararat province.
