UBPay and MoneyTO Launch Money Transfers from Armenia to the UK

YEREVAN, March 5. /ARKA/. Clients of the Armenian payment system UBPay can now make money transfers from Armenia to the UK directly to recipients’ bank accounts. The new corridor has been launched in partnership with the British money transfer system MoneyTO.

On January 30, 2026, the Board of the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia approved the cooperation between the two systems, marking an important milestone in expanding cross-border payment services.

Transfers can be initiatedat all UBPay partner service points across Armenia. Funds may be sent in AMD, GBP, EUR, and USD. Remittances are credited to the recipient’s bank account in GBP. The fee starts from 0%.

Money transfers continue to play an important role in Armenia’s economy, remaining a significant source of financial inflows. In 2025, inward remittances amounted to USD 5.98 billion, while USD 4.3 billion was sent from Armenia. Over the past five years, the volume of transactions from Armenia to the UK has increased six times, reflecting growing economic and personal ties between the two countries.

“UBPay’s international partner network continues to expand, and the list of countries available for sending funds from Armenia is steadily growing. The United Kingdom represents a promising and strategically important market for our clients and us.  We are confident that the new service will be in demand among those whose relatives live, study, or work in the UK.  Sending money and providing financial support has now become even more convenient and accessible,” said Seyran Sargsyan, CEO of UBPay.

“We highly value our partnership with UBPay, which opens new growth opportunities for our company. We are pleased to offer users a convenient and reliable way to quickly transfer funds to UK bank accounts. In the near future, we plan to launch transfers in the opposite direction, from the UK to Armenia,” said Galina Selicka, CEO of MoneyTO.

Today, UBPay holds a significant share of Armenia’s money transfer market, handling about one-third of all transactions in the country. The system provides an intuitive API infrastructure, allowing banks and money transfer companies to easily integrate transfer services and ensure smooth and reliable transactions.

UBPay remains committed to strengthening its cooperation with international partners and expanding the geographical reach of its services. This year, in partnership with MoneyTO, new transfer destinations are planned, including European countries.

The operator and settlement bank of UBPay is Unibank.
