YEREVAN, June 16. /ARKA/. The Central Bank of Armenia has reviewed its approach to managing international reserves and decided not to include gold in them, stated Central Bank Chairman Martin Galstyan.
“Reserve management approaches are reviewed annually. In this regard, we have published a new document. We have disclosed significantly more information about the reserves, including their currency structure and other data that was not previously published,” Galstyan said at a press conference on Tuesday, responding to a question from the ARKA news agency.
According to him, the new document contains significantly more detailed information about the structure of the country’s international reserves.
“Regarding gold, the Board of the Central Bank has not yet deemed it appropriate to include gold reserves in international reserves,” Galstyan said.
