Institute of Theater and Cinematography has implemented the latest video editing software

YEREVAN, June 20. /ARKA/. A new stage of development has begun at the Yerevan State Institute of Theater and Cinematography. The university has established a state-of-the-art color correction lab, where students are learning the DaVinci software, acquired with the support of the Stepan Gishyan Charitable Foundation. This software allows students to control frame lighting, the correct play of light and shadow, color harmony, image depth, and other parameters.

The Yerevan State Institute of Theater and Cinematography was one of the beneficiaries of the 2025 grant competition of the Stepan Gishyan Charitable Foundation, thanks to whose support the color correction room was created.

“The main goal of the program is to provide, first and foremost, graduate students with the opportunity to create high-quality films and participate in international festivals. Students will work with DaVinci, a cutting-edge and powerful video editing tool. “The program includes not only color correction tools but also tools for working with sound and visual effects,” noted Anna Gishyan, Director of the Stepan Gishyan Charitable Foundation.

“Thanks to the Stepan Gishyan Foundation, we are becoming unique. Until now, color correction, as strange as it may sound, was not taught in Armenia. We have changed our educational programs, and now students can fully use the new program already at the post-production stage,” noted Sara Nalbandyan, Rector of the Yerevan State Institute of Theater and Cinema.

The Stepan Gishyan Charitable Foundation was created by Acba Bank, the French Credit Agricole group, the National Federation of Credit Agricole, and the family of Stepan Gishyan. The foundation’s programs are aimed at strengthening Armenian-French ties, as well as improving and developing the socio-economic, scientific, educational, cultural, and medical spheres in Armenia.
