Armenian banks increased net profit to 219.7 billion drams in the first half of the year

YEREVAN, July 21. /ARKA/. The combined net profit (after tax) of Armenian banks in the first half of 2026 amounted to 219.72 billion drams, compared to 200.7 billion drams in the same period of 2025, an increase of 9.48%.

This is according to the ARKA news agency’s bulletin “Performance Indicators of Armenian Banks. Operational Data for the Second Quarter of 2026,” compiled based on Armenian banks’ reports published in accordance with international IFRS standards.

Furthermore, the banking system’s profit in the second quarter of this year amounted to 116.24 billion drams, compared to 103.48 billion drams in the first quarter of this year, an increase of 12.32%.

As of the end of June, all 17 operating banks in the country remained profitable. Compared to the first half of 2025, 11 banks increased their profits, while 5 banks saw a decrease. One bank’s profit remained unchanged. In a quarterly comparison, compared to the first quarter of 2026, 12 banks recorded profit growth, while 5 banks saw a decrease.

The total assets of Armenian banks as of June 30, 2026, amounted to 13.84 trillion drams (a 5.21% increase compared to the previous quarter and a 19.15% increase compared to the second quarter of 2025).

The volume of bank loan investments at the end of June 2026 amounted to 8.56 trillion drams, an increase of 6.80% compared to the end of March 2026 and 23.56% compared to the end of June 2025. Total liabilities at the end of the second quarter of 2026 amounted to 11.61 trillion drams, representing a 6.98% increase compared to the first quarter of 2026 and a 20.27% increase compared to the second quarter of 2025.

The total capital of Armenian banks as of June 30, 2026, amounted to 2.23 trillion drams, a decrease of 3.13% compared to the previous quarter and an increase of 13.63% compared to the same quarter of the previous year. ($1 = 365.93 drams).
