YEREVAN, August 6. /ARKA/. At a meeting on Thursday, the Armenian government approved a loan agreement with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD, a World Bank structure) for €170.3 million under the “Armenia Economic Transformation Policy Development Loan” program.
As noted in the decision rationale, the agreement was prepared following negotiations between Armenia and the IBRD held on October 17, 2025, February 23, and June 3 and 8, 2026.
The loan proceeds will be used to improve the competitive environment and stimulate investment in Armenia.
The loan term is 28 years, including a 10-year grace period. Repayment is provided in equal semi-annual payments. The first payment is due on June 15, 2036, and the last on December 15, 2053.
