“The Power of One Dram” – General Partner of the “Climate Change and Women” Awards

YEREVAN, September 17. /ARKA/. The August beneficiary of “The Power of One Dram” initiative was “Orran” Charitable Non-Governmental Organization. Thanks to the accumulated AMD 4,719,020, the child beneficiaries of the organization started the academic year fully prepared, equipped with the necessary school clothing and stationery.

The funds collected throughout September through “The Power of One Dram” initiative will be directed toward organizing the “Climate Change and Women” Awards. The initiative aims to recognize, highlight, and raise the visibility of women’s leadership and contributions in combating climate change and preserving biodiversity.

Within the framework of COP17, the “Climate Change and Women” award ceremony is being held in cooperation with the “Women in Climate and Energy” (WiCE) NGO, the OxYGen Foundation, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the CBD Women’s Caucus, and the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Armenia.

Tatevik Vardevanyan, Head of the Communication and Sustainable Development Department at Idram and IDBank, highlighted the importance and long-term potential of the initiative.

“Environmental protection and sustainable development are among the core directions of “The Power of One Dram”, therefore this program completely reflects our core values. We are pleased to support an initiative that emphasizes the indispensable efforts of women in the fight against climate change and biodiversity preservation. Idram and IDBank continue to support initiatives that not only address vital issues but are also directed toward finding practical solutions and ensuring a sustainable future,” stated Tatevik Vardevanyan.

According to Nune Sakanyan, Founder and Director of the “Women in Climate and Energy” NGO, the initiative serves as an important platform for making women’s work visible and highlighting their role.

This support is key to implementing the initiative, recognizing the value of women’s leadership, and promoting effective environmental solutions. We are grateful for valuable collaboration and for emphasizing the concept of equal opportunities,” noted Nune Sakanyan.

“The Power of One Dram” initiative continues to support impactful social, community, and educational projects. To become part of the initiative’s good deeds, payments should be made via the Idram&IDBank app, the IDBanking.am and banking.idram.am online platforms, or Idram and IDBank payment terminals. For every payment made, the companies donate one Armenian dram toward the implementation of important projects.
