EDB expects Armenia’s GDP to grow by 6% in 2026 amid high economic activity

YEREVAN, September 28. /ARKA/. The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) expects Armenia’s GDP to increase by 6% in 2026, according to the bank’s weekly macro-review.

“We expect high economic activity to persist in 2026, driven by domestic sources of growth,” the study states.

According to the document, economic activity in Armenia rose by 7.3% year-on-year in January–August 2026, following a 7.7% increase in January–July.

The services sector made the primary contribution to this trend, expanding by 12.8% year-on-year. High growth rates were also recorded in construction (24.7%) and industry (7.4%), the EDB review notes.

The bank estimates that growth in the services sector was supported by the IT industry and sectors linked to high tourism activity. Construction, according to the bank, was bolstered by increased lending—including mortgages—and investment activity.
