YEREVAN, October 8. /ARKA/. The net inflow of cross-border remittances to individuals in Armenia, received from abroad via the banking system of the Republic of Armenia, totaled $1.8 billion in January–August 2026, compared to $889.3 million in January–August 2025, according to a report by the republic’s Central Bank.
Thus, this figure increased 2.02-fold year-on-year.
In August alone, the net inflow of remittances amounted to $239.7 million, compared to $172.7 million in August of the previous year.
The inflow of cross-border remittances to individuals in Armenia, received from abroad via the banking system of the Republic of Armenia, totaled $4.5 billion during the first eight months of this year, compared to $3.74 billion during the same period last year.
Leading sources of remittances to Armenia include Russia ($3.08 billion) and the USA ($498.5 million). Russia and the USA were also the top sources of remittances to Armenia during the corresponding period of 2025 ($2.4 billion and $460.04 million, respectively).
At the same time, the outflow of remittances from Armenia to foreign countries, processed through the banking system of the Republic of Armenia, amounted to $2.71 billion in January–August 2026, compared to $2.86 billion in the same period of 2025. The USA ($407.7 million) and the UAE ($373.4 million) led in outward remittances from Armenia during the reporting months. In January–August 2025, the leaders were the Russian Federation ($474.1 million) and the UAE ($421.1 million).
