Armenian Commercial Banks Buy $80 Million At Local Foreign Exchange

YEREVAN October 15, /ARKA/. In a time span from October 11 to 15 Armenian commercial banks bought a total of $80 million at the local foreign exchange market at an average weighted exchange rate of 360.60 Drams per one USD, the Central Bank of Armenia said today.

It said the banks sold $80.2 million in the same period of time at an average weighted exchange rate of 362.04 Drams per one USD. The aggregate amount of deals in USD effected at NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange reached $15.7 million at 360.61 Drams per one USD.

The Central Bank said also a total of $450,000 worth transactions to buy and sell USD were made by banks at intra-bank market at 361.06 Drams per one USD. Besides, October 4-10 the banks extended loans in Armenian national currency worth 14.8 billion Drams and also loans in USD worth $45.8 million. ($1 – 360.51 Drams). -0-
