Armenia posts second highest inflation rate in CIS

YEREVAN, December 6, /ARKA/. One of the highest inflation rate in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) for the first ten months of 2010 was reported by Armenia. According to CIS Statistical Committee, Armenian inflation rose by 7.9% year-on-year, while the average rate for CIS was 7%. It said consumer prices in Armenia rose by one percent in October from September.

The highest inflation rate of 9.4% for Jan.- Oct. 2010 was posted by Ukraine. It was followed by Moldova –7.3%, Belarus –7.3% , Kazakhstan– 7% and Russia -6,5%. Inflation rates in Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan rose by 5.9%, 5.9% and 5.3% respectively, No data was available for Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. -0-
