Trading at NASDAQ OMX Armenia in June amounts to $62.9 million

YEREVAN, July 13. / ARKA /. The total volume of currency trading in U.S. dollars at NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange in June amounted to about $62.9 million, an equivalent of AMD 23.5 billion. According to an ARKA analysis, based on NASDAQ OMX Armenia reports, this figure represented a 23.3% rise ($11.9 million) compared to May. The total number of transactions rose in June by 124 from May to 536.

In June the largest amount of transactions at NASDAQ OMX Armenia was registered on 29 when $6.2 million worth transactions were concluded and the lowest of $1 million was reported on June 2.

During the reporting period no transactions in euro were reported.

In January 2008, Nordic exchange operator OMX Group acquired 100% of shares of the Armenian Stock Exchange (Armex) and the Central Depository of Armenia (CDA). After the combination of NASDAQ and OMX in February 2008, Armex and CDA have become fully owned by the NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc. On January 27, 2009, “Armenian Stock Exchange” ojsc was officially renamed as “NASDAQ OMX Armenia” ojsc. On June 5, 2009, “NASDAQ OMX Armenia” ojsc became the owner of 100% of the shares of the “Central Depository of Armenia” ojsc. -0-
