Interest rates on loans in AMD deposits rise in August

YEREVAN, 12 October / ARKA /. The average interest rate on loans in Armenia’s national currency, the dram, provided in August by Armenian commercial banks, rose by 0.15 percentage point from July to 17.39%, according to the National Statistical Service. At the same time, the average interest rate on deposits attracted by commercial banks in August increased by 0.33 percentage points to 9.28%.

According to official data, the total amount of loans issued by banks in August increased by 2% from July to more than 1.1 trillion at the end of August. Besides, the total amount of deposits attracted by commercial banks in August amounted to 863.1 billion drams, having increased by 7.58% from July. There are 21 commercial banks in Armenia.  -0-
