Statistics: Growth Of Economic Activity In October Was 2.6%

YEREVAN, November 30. /ARKA/. In the Armenian economy in October 2011 growth of the indicator of economic activity by 2.6% was recorded compared to the same period of 2010.

Armenian National Statistic Service (NSS) informed ARKA that in October 2011 compared to September 2011 decline of this indicator by 17.9% was recorded.

Growth of this indicator in January-October 2011 was 5.9% compared to the same period of 2010.

According to NSS data, decline by 25% was registered in construction sphere. Volume of construction works in October compared to September was over 46.2 billion drams reduced by 6.7%.

14.3% growth of industry in October 2011 compared to the same period of 2010 provided the volume of industrial production by over 88.7 billion drams reduced in October by 3.4% compared to September.

In October 2011 the volume of gross product in agriculture increased by 7.7% compared to October 2010 making over 117.1 billion drams. In October compared to September this indicator decreased by 36.2%.
Foreign trade turnover increased by 21.1% in the reporting period making 189.6 billion drams ($504.1 million). This indicator decreased by 4% in October 2011 compared to September 2011.

In October 2011 the volume of provided services increased by 7.2% compared to the same period of 2010 making about 79.4 billion drams. In October this indicator decreased by 1.2% compared to September.

According to the state budget, GDP growth in 2011 in Armenia was planned on the level of 4.6%. ($1-382.74 drams)..–0—
