Armenia’s household deposits in foreign currency rise by 3.5% in December to 342.6 billion drams

YEREVAN, January 30. /ARKA/. Armenia’s household deposits in foreign currency kept at local commercial banks rose by 3.5% in December from the previous months to 342.6 billion drams, according to a statement posted on the Central Bank’s official website. It says time household deposits in foreign currency grew by 5.5% from November to 283.1 billion drams (82.6% of all household deposits).

The volume of household deposits in Armenia’s national currency were said to have risen by 8.5% from November to 141 billion drams. The overall amount of all deposits kept at 21 banks grew by 4.9% to 969.7 billion drams as of December 31, 2011. ($1 – 386.63 drams). -0-
