Average interest rate on short-term loans in dram drop by 0.37 p.p. to 17.74 percent

YEREVAN, May 11. /ARKA/. The average interest rate on short-term loans in the Armenian national currency, the dram, provided by Armenian commercial banks in 2012 March, dropped by 0.37 percentage point from February to 17.74 percent, according to the National Statistical service (NSS).

The average interest rate on all types of savings deposits fell by 0.93 percentage point to 8.55 percent. According to NSS numbers, the outstanding loan portfolio of all 21 commercial banks operating in the country grew by 2.6 percent from February to 1.35 trillion drams. The total amount of all savings deposits in all banks grew by 1.4 percent from February to 1.025 trillion drams. ($1 – 393.41 drams). -0-
