Transactions with securities at NASDAQ OMX Armenia drop by 30 percent in April

YEREVAN, May 18, /ARKA/. NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange said the amount of transactions with securities in April saw a 30.21% drop from the previous month to 435.7 million from 624.3 million drams.

Transactions with 4 companies’ corporate bonds totaled over 126.8 million drams or 29% of all transactions. Transactions with government bonds amounted to around 256.9 million drams or 59% of all transactions. Transactions with shares generated 52 million drams or 11.9% of the total amount.

In January 2008, Nordic exchange operator OMX Group acquired 100% of shares of the Armenian Stock Exchange (Armex) and the Central Depository of Armenia (CDA). After the combination of NASDAQ and OMX in February 2008, Armex and CDA have become fully owned by the NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc. On January 27, 2009, “Armenian Stock Exchange” ojsc was officially renamed as “NASDAQ OMX Armenia” ojsc. On June 5, 2009, “NASDAQ OMX Armenia” ojsc became the owner of 100% of the shares of the “Central Depository of Armenia” ojsc. -0- ($1 – 396.98 drams). -0-
