Net capital outflow form Armenian decreases to $331 million

YEREVAN, July 9. /ARKA/. Net capital outflow from Armenia in the first quarter of this year declined by $51 million year-on-year to $331 million, according to Tatul Manaserian, head of Alternative think-tank in Yerevan.

Speaking at Novosti international press center, Manaserian said the best way to prevent the “flight” of capital from the country is to increase its investment attractiveness, as well as establish mechanisms to create equal competitive conditions, like the ones enforced by neighboring Georgia.

He also urged the government to set up free economic zones in border areas, and grant villages the status of free economic zones, which will ensure adequate investment attractiveness and prevent capital flight from Armenia. -0-
