Armenia faces 7.8 % economic activity in first half- finance ministry

YEREVAN, August 2. /ARKA/. Armenia faced a 7.8% economic activity in the first half of this year, Armenian Finance Minister Vache Gabrielyan said at the Cabinet meeting on Thursday.

He noted that the highest upturn was reported in industry- 13%, agriculture- 8.1% and service sectors- 12%

“Even though the construction sector faced a slump, construction conducted by population on its own funds, which was facing a drop for many years, has now advanced. This problem is not stuck on the same place now,” he said.

Gabrielyan added that if these figures are considered in ratio to economic growth, the growth will be at 6-6.5%, according to their forecasts.

He also stated that the economic tendencies will remain the same within the whole year, and state budget revenue plan will be realized.

As of inflation, he said Armenia is expected to report it at 4%.

Minister reminded that 1.5% deflation was recorded in Armenia in a month, and in July inflation was 2.2% compared to the same month a year earlier.

In Armenia’s budget, the economic growth is projected at 4.2%, and inflation- 4±1,5%.—0–
