Dollar exchange transactions at NASDAQ OMX Armenia last week total $51.18 million

YEREVAN, December 28. /ARKA/. Dollar/dram exchange transactions effected at NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange between December 24 and 28 totaled $51.18 million, the press office of the Central Bank of Armenia reported today.

This amount is 2.6 times or by $31.88 million larger than that of the previous week.

The dollar then traded at 403.11 drams. No deals on euros and Russian rubles were effected beteen Dec 24 and 28.

NASDAQ OMX Armenia (former Armenian Stock Exchange, Armex), was established in 2001 as a voluntary merger of broker (dealer) companies.

In early November 2007, the stock market was reorganized into an open joint stock company.

In January 2008, Nordic exchange operator OMX Group acquired 100% of shares of the Armenian Stock Exchange (Armex) and in June 2009 it became the sole shareholder of the Central Depository of Armenia.
